Many roofs, one weekday

  • Temples in the hills
  • Churches on Sundays, loud and full
  • Most weekdays look secular
Understanding Korean Culture

Korea is not a one-religion country. Buddhist temples sit in the hills. Protestant churches fill Sunday and often Tuesday cell groups. Catholic parishes are quieter and older in some cities. Shamanic gut rites still happen when a family is frightened. And then Monday looks secular: work, study, convenience stores. Do not pick one roof and call it Korea. The weekday is the majority religion of busyness.
