Nunchi is often translated as emotional intelligence. The word is closer to eye-measure. It is the skill of seeing who has not spoken, who is tired, who is the real decision-maker, and when the meeting is already over. South Asian students sometimes have this skill in family rooms and miss it in Korean offices, because the cues are quieter. No one will announce the cue. That is the point of nunchi.
